Toyama no Kinsan is a Japanese Rakugo storyteller. Rakugo is a traditional Japanese form of comic storytelling where the storyteller sits on a cushion and narrates a humorous story using various gestures and expressions. Toyama no Kinsan is credited with being one of the few Rakugo performers who helped to revive the art form in the aftermath of World War II. He has become famous for his unique style and for incorporating modern themes and ideas into his performances. Over the years, he has received numerous awards and recognition for his work, including being designated a "Living National Treasure" by the Japanese government in 1999. He continues to perform and train younger performers in the art of Rakugo.
